Review: The Sherlock Holmes Handbook

sherlockholmesI picked this book up today at The Works.  I already own The Jane Austen Handbook by the same publisher, and I thought since it was at a reduced price ‘why the hell not?’

Though small (roughly A5 size), it is a treasure trove of information.  The Sherlock Holmes Handbook makes a charming addition to a Sherlock Holmes collection.  Unfortunately mine is only consists of the new films (with Robert Downing Jr. and Jude Law), the television series (Benedict Cumberpatch and Martin Freeman), a television film The Case of the Silk Stocking, a large hardback volume of all the Sherlock Holmes stories and a Wordsworth hardback of The Best of Sherlock Holmes.  And now this book.

Subtitled ‘The Methods and Mysteries of the World’s Greatest Detective’

Each chapter is fairly short (maximum of 9 pages, not including illustations) but some are not so easily digestible so it takes…
